Police are investigating the theft of a car in downtown Salina early Saturday morning.
A man told police that he had gone out shortly before 4 a.m. to warm up his blue 1999 Mercury Sable so he could go to work. When he returned, the car was gone from where it was parked in the 100 block of North Eighth Street, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester explained this morning. The car's license tag was KS 987LRJ.
Also missing were the man's driver's license, a bank card, a fishing pole, and coveralls, Forrester noted.
Total loss was estimated at $1,000.
