Evenings at Ease: Leadership communications

ABILENE - A Brain, Heart, and Courage: What Six Teenagers Taught Me About Leadership, is the October Evenings at Ease program from the Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene.

The presentation is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday and is scheduled to feature Emily Smith, a doctoral student at Kansas State University. The program will be held in the Eisenhower Library Auditorium and streamed online.

Smith taught journalism at Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg for almost 15 years. In April 2017, Pittsburg High School hired a new principal who resigned after student journalists investigated and reported on her falsified credentials.

"My students taught me what real leadership is as we survived an international news sensation amidst conflict and controversy at home in our school and community," Smith noted.
