CONCORDIA - The Cloud County Community College women's track and field team has added another Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Athlete of the Week as sophomore Marie Forbes has been named KJCCC Field Athlete of the week following her performance at the Emporia State University Midwest Classic.
Competing in three events, Forbes won the discus with a throw of 45.26 meters (148 ft. - 6 in.) to go along with a victory in the shot put (13.40 meters, 43 ft. - 11.75 in.). Adding a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 48.25 meters (158 ft. - 4 in.), Forbes helped Cloud County to a third-place team finish among the 14-team field.
Forbes joins Leonie Beu in being named KJCCC Athlete of the Week during the 2021 outdoor season for CCCC as Beu earned the award on March 31, 2021.
