Driver dies after SUV, U-Haul separate, roll on Interstate 70

ELLSWORTH COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 10:30a.m. Saturday in Ellsworth County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Chevy Tahoe pulling a U-Haul and driven by  Terry D. Ross, 64, Colorado Springs, was eastbound on Interstate 70 five miles west of Kansas 14.

The Tahoe entered the median and the driver overcorrected into the south ditch. The SUV and U-Haul separated and rolled. A motorcycle was thrown from the U-Haul and the driver was ejected from the SUV.

 Ross was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Parsons Funeral Home. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
