The Kansas Highway Patrol Honor Guard will be conducting a 21-gun salute training exercise today, April 14, on the Troop J Academy grounds in Salina.
The public is advised that the training will involve the use of blank rounds, which may result in the sound of simulated gunfire in the surrounding area. Residents should not be alarmed.
KHP officials noted the importance of this training in preparing to honor those who have served with dignity and respect.
“We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue honoring those who have served with dignity,” the agency shared in a public notice.
