⚾️ Diaw Homers as Wind Surge Fall to RoughRiders, 14-2

WICHITA, Kan. — The Wichita Wind Surge (29-38) fell 14-2 to the Frisco RoughRiders (33-34) in game four of a six-game series Friday night at Equity Bank Park as Frisco scored 14 runs on 15 hits.

Wichita was held to two runs on three hits and committed three errors in the field. Khadim Diaw provided a bright spot, launching his fourth home run of the season, while Kyle DeBarge and Marek Houston each extended their on-base streaks in the loss.

THE RUNDOWN

Frisco opened the scoring in the top of the first, using a pair of singles sandwiched around a fielder's choice to plate a run. The Wind Surge responded in the bottom half when Diaw launched a solo homer, his fourth of the season, to tie the game at 1-1.

The RoughRiders broke the game open in the top of the third, scoring six runs on a pair of RBI singles and a grand slam to take a 7-1 lead.

Frisco continued to add to its lead with runs in the fourth and fifth on an RBI fielder's choice and a wild pitch, respectively, to make it 9-1 after five innings.

The RoughRiders added three runs in the sixth, loading the bases before scoring on a walk and a two-run single. Frisco added another run on a solo homer in the seventh to extend its advantage to 13-1.

The Surge pulled a run back in the bottom of the seventh, opening the inning with back-to-back walks before an RBI single to center field cut the deficit to 13-2.

Frisco added one final run to close out a 14-2 victory and even the six-game series at two games apiece.
