Janet S. Lervold, the daughter of Russell Lee Lervold and Erma Jean (Graham) Lervold, was born December 10, 1954 in Concordia, KS and passed away on May 31, 2021 in Belleville, KS at the age of 66 years, 7 months, and 21 days.
Janet grew up in rural Scandia, KS, attending the rural schools at an early age and later graduating from Scandia High School in 1972. She then attended and graduated from the Academy of Hair Design in Salina, KS as a cosmetologist.
Janet started in Scandia and later was co-owner along with Sondra Richardson of the Styleaire Beauty Salon. They later opened a clothing store for children in Belleville, KS for a time and then opened and operated Hair Plus in Belleville, KS for many years until her retirement in 2019.
Janet loved animals and dogs and was involved in several committees associated with the Chamber of Commerce for several years. She was confirmed and a member of Amana Lutheran Church, Scandia, KS, and also was a member of the junior choir at the Church.
She was married to Larry Kelch for several years. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Janet was preceded by her parents Russell and Erma Lervold; husband Larry Kelch; brothe, Glenn Lervold, and nephew Zachary Lervold, and step-daughter Michele.
She is survived by her brother Gary Lervold of Scandia, KS; extended family members including Tanja Richter, Michael Etherington, and Rex Arnold; numerous other extended family; nephews Brian, Seth, Nathan, and Daniel; nieces Erin, Erica, and Sara, and friends.
Cremation was selected and family graveside services will be held at a later date at the Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, KS.
Donations can be made to the Scandia High School Class of 1972. A scholarship will be awarded for cosmetology school in memory of Janet Lervold.
