UPDATE: All counties in our area now have wind chill advisories

UPDATE: The National Weather Service has issued wind chill advisories for all counties in our area.

Multiple wind chill advisories have now been issued for our area.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita has issued a wind chill advisory in effect from midnight tonight to noon Saturday for the following counties in our area.

Ellsworth County

Lincoln County

Marion County

McPherson County

Saline County

Very cold wind chills are expected, with wind chills as low as 20 degrees below zero forecast.

This will be a longer duration period of dangerously cold conditions that will span multiple days, potentially lasting into the middle of next week, NWS noted.

The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.

NWS in Hastings, Neb., has issued a wind chill advisory in effect from midnight tonight to noon on Friday that includes the following counties in our area.

Jewell County

Mitchell County

Very cold wind chills are expected, with wind chills as low as 25 degrees below zero forecast.

The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.

NWS in Topeka has issued a wind chill advisory in effect from midnight tonight through noon Friday for the following counties in our area.

Clay County

Cloud County

Dickinson County

Ottawa County

Republic County

Very cold wind chills are expected, with wind chills as low as 15 to 20 below zero.

The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
