Kansas Wesleyan Men's Basketball had three student-athletes selected to the All-KCAC Basketball teams as selected by conference coaches and announced by the conference office.
Jun Murdock (SO/Wichita, Kan.) was selected to the first-team, AJ Range (SR/Junction City, Kan.) was selected to the second-team and Alex Littlejohn (FR/Newton, Kan.) was selected honorable mention. Littlejohn was also selected to the All-KCAC Freshman Team.
Murdock was phenomenal for the Coyotes this season. He finished the conference season ranked eighth in the KCAC in scoring and assists per game, averaging 14.8 points and 3.2 assists per game and 19th in steals per game. He also ranks 11th in the KCAC 3-point field goal percentage in conference play at 37.8 percent. He scored 20 or more points five times during the season, including scoring 30 twice, against Bethany on Jan. 5 and against Saint Mary on Feb. 3.
Veteran AJ Range ranked No. 22 in the KCAC in scoring at 11.8 points and No. 9 in rebounding at 7.3 rebounds per game during conference play. He also ranked eighth in the KCAC in field goal percentage. Range is closing in on a couple KWU career records. He has 1484 career points and 966 career rebounds. The career record for points is 1544 and the rebounding record is 1149. He is also nine field goals away from breaking the career field goals made record. Range does already hold one career record for games played at 141.
True freshman Alex Littlejohn averaged 8.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game for the Coyotes in conference play this season. He headed 12th in the conference in rebounds and was in the Top 50 in scoring. He ranks fifth in the conference in field goal percentage at 54.5 percent. He also ranks No. 21 in the in conference in steals per game. He appeared in all 24 KCAC games and started thiree during the season. His outstanding efforts also earned him a spot on the All-KCAC Freshman team.
KWU is 22-9 overall after picking up a win in the KCAC Quarterfinals on Thursday night against Ottawa. This is the first time since 2007 that the Coyotes have won 20 or more games in a season.
The Coyotes will face the winner between Avila and Oklahoma Wesleyan on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the home site of the higher-seeded team. The KCAC Championship game is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Monday at Hartman Arena in Park City.
