On April 16, during the club’s April meeting, the Smoky View 4-H Club met with Michelle Griffin and her son to discuss how the club could obtain more members. Griffin is a master volunteer for the Central Kansas District Promotion and Recruitment Committee.

Questions asked included “Why do you like 4-H?,” “Why did you join 4-H?,” and “Who can you ask to join 4-H?”

Members had many thoughtful responses to these questions, such as “Community,” “To learn public speaking,” and “Friends and neighbors.”

Other events at this meeting included selecting a queen and a king candidate for the Tri-Rivers Fair, watching presentations on various topics, singing the song “This Little Light of Mine,” and playing a game.

The club will meet once again at 4 p.m. June 18 in the Salemsborg Fellowship Center.
