The Salina Area United Way (SAUW) plans to conduct on Wednesday a New Volunteer Information Session for persons assisting with its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA).

The session is scheduled for noon Wednesday at the SAUW offices, 113 North Seventh Street, Suite 201.

SAUW seeks volunteers to fill the following positions for the VITA free tax preparation program.

Greeters

Tax preparers

Quality reviewers

Site coordinators

“In Saline County, 30,000 people qualify to use VITA. It is crucial for us to have volunteers so we can continue to provide this program to our community. With additional hours being offered this year the need for additional volunteers is there,” Claire Mullen, SAUW executive director, told Salina Post.

The volunteers will assist during tax season: February-April 2021, according to information on the Salina Area United Way Facebook page.
