The National Weather Service in Hastings, Neb., has issued a flood advisory that includes Jewell County and Mitchell County.
The flood advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. Sunday.
At 6:54 a.m. CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in parts of the advisory area. Between one and three inches of rain have fallen in parts of the advisory area early this morning as of 6:50 a.m. CDT, although amounts have varied widely over short distances. An additional one to two inches of rain is possible in parts of the area over the next few hours before rain gradually ends.
