Kansas woman injured after SUV strikes deer, utility pole

MITCHELL COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 11p.m. Friday in Mitchell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Nissan Kicks driven by Summer J. Hale, 21, Concordia, was northbound on 340th Road just north of H Road when a deer entered the roadway. 

The animal collided with the SUV.  After impact, the vehicle left the roadway, entered the west ditch and struck a utility pole.

EMS transported Hale to the Mitchell County Hospital. She was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
