Trojans drop sub-state quarterfinal at Garden Plain

The Southeast of Saline boys basketball team battled to the final buzzer on Friday night, but the Trojan season came to a close in Garden Plain at the hands of the Owls 58-41.

Southeast hung around through the first three-quarters of this game, trailing by just two at the end of the first, four at half and six after three, but in the fourth and final quarter the Owls pulled away.

Garden Plain outscored SES 21-11 over the last eight minutes to punch their ticket to the semifinals.

Kaeden Kasselman was the star of the show for the Owls, scoring 28 points, including 18 in the second half.

Meanwhile on Southeast’s side, Gannon Jacobson led the charge with 14 points in the loss.

The Owls (13-8) will hit the road next Wednesday for a date with the 1-seed in Cheney.

For the Trojans the campaign draws to a close at 10-10.
