UPDATE 8:55 p.m. Thursday: Southeastern Saline County continues to rumble. Three additional minor earthquakes have shaken the area southwest of Gypsum this evening, bring Thursday's total to six.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.0 magnitude quake struck at 6:54 p.m. Thursday. It was centered north of E. Hedberg Road between S. Niles Road and S. Cunningham Road.

At 7:59 p.m. Thursday, a 2.7 magnitude quake struck. It was centered south of E. Hedberg Road between S. Kipp Road and S. Whitmore Road.

Then, at 8:11 p.m. Thursday, a 2.0 magnitude earthquake struck northwest of the S. Niles Road/E. Hedberg Road intersection.

The Kansas Geological Survey reported that a 2.4 magnitude quake struck at 2:26 p.m. It was centered just north of the E. Hedberg Road/S. Niles Road intersection.

At 2:57 p.m., another quake struck south-southeast of the other. It was centered south of the E. Hedberg Road/S. Niles Road intersection.

ASSARIA - Though the frequency has slowed down dramatically from Wednesday's sometimes hectic pace, part of southeastern Saline County continued to shake early this morning.
According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.0 magnitude quake rattled the area east of Assaria at 12:14 a.m. Thursday. It was centered just northwest of the S. Simpson Road/E. Assaria Road intersection.
Rick Miller, a senior geophysics scientist with KGS, told Salina Post yesterday that a few additional smaller earthquakes would occur with the cluster of quakes southeast Saline County experienced Wednesday.
