Jack L. Newcom

Jack’s life began on Wednesday December 2, 1953, in Winfield, KS. He was the son of Rex Birdell Newcom and Naomi E. (Pierson) Newcom. Jack graduated from Remington High School in Whitewater in 1972. Jack joined the United States Air Force directly after high school graduation. While enlisted he was a parachute rigger for the Air Force. Jack was united in marriage to the former Kathy Shaffer- Worrell in 2002 in Wichita. For over 40 years, Jack was an auctioneer and real estate agent in the area. He was a member of the Kansas Auctioneers Association. Jack is survived by his wife Kathy Newcom of Leon, son Nick (Holley) Newcom of Wichita’ grandchildren Brailey, Lauren, and Jax Newcom, and Parker and Hayes Dexter; siblings Bob Newcom of TN, Geneva Ambrose of TN, and Brent Newcom of Newton. Jack passed away on Sunday April 14, 2024, at Mapleton Manor in Andover. He is preceded in death by his parents, and son Christopher Newcom. His family will gather with friends on Thursday April 18, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Palmyra Baptist Church, Benton. He will be laid to rest at Green Valley Cemetery, Furley with military honors.
