The Southeast of Saline track and field teams were back in action on Tuesday for the first of two meets in three days at the Ellsworth Invitational.

Despite being a bit shorthanded, the boy’s team turned in a third-place team finish on a day that saw seven Trojans and five Lady Trojans on the podium.

On the boy's side, Chase Poague maintained his undefeated streak as defending state champion in the hurdles, winning both the 110 and 300 with ease.

Connor Caselman collected his first gold of the season in the 200-meter dash and Drake Augustine rounded out the individual boy’s winners with a victory in the 800.

Both of those podiums would feature two Trojans as Marcus Davis finished second in the 200 and Levin Allen brought home bronze in the 800.

Not content with two double podium finishes Cayden Walker and Joel Kejr wrapped up the 1600 in second and third to propel SES to a third-place finish.

On the girl's side, Jentrie Alderson added another gold medal to her tally in the 3200 and helped the 4x800 relay team reach the top step on the day.

Ashley Prochazka placed second in the 1600 and Cali Augustine and Macy Bunch rounded out the podium finishers taking third in the 400 and 100m hurdles respectively.

SES will face a short turnaround as the team travels to Lindsborg for the Smoky Valley Invitational on Thursday.
