Jerris Letourneau, 97, of Clay Center, died Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, Kansas. She was born December 10, 1923, east of Idana at her grandparents’ home, the daughter of Earl and Gertrude (Campbell) Tobyne. Jerris graduated from Clay Center High School in 1940.
She married Leo Letourneau on December 6, 1940 and they made their home in Corvallis, Oregon, where Leo was a surveyor. They moved to Bennington, Kansas after Leo was discharged from the Army, where they resided for 40 years. Jerris became a beautician in 1946 and she owned and operated the Klip N Kurl in Bennington.
The couple moved back to Clay Center in 1997, where Leo resided in Medicalodge until his death and then Jerris moved to Parkview Plaza for 21 years. At the time of her death, she was a resident of the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. Jerris was a member of the Idana Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by parents, husband, daughter, Kathy Ann Letourneau and son, Dennis Letourneau.

Graveside funeral services: Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Idana Cemetery in Idana, Kansas
Visitation: There will be no visitation.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Idana Presbyterian Church c/o funeral home.
