CLOUD COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) arrested a former Cloud County Sheriff’s Office corrections officer for alleged child sex crimes, according to a media release from the agency.
Just after 4:30 on Monday, KBI agents arrested 36-year-old Brice Berk, of Concordia, at the Republic County Sheriff’s Office after he turned himself over to authorities. Berk was arrested for 12 counts of sexual exploitation of a child. The crimes allege Berk possessed and distributed child pornography.
Berk served as a Cloud County Sheriff’s Office corrections officer until March 2025, after a search warrant was executed at his residence. At that time, evidence was located and seized. The Cloud County Sheriff's Office was fully cooperative with the investigation.
The KBI began investigating after a cyber-tip was submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Following the arrest, Berk was booked into the Republic County Jail on a $20,000 bond. The case is expected to be prosecuted by Cloud County Attorney’s Office, according to the KBI.
