Kansas Wesleyan's Tabetha Deines (JR/Salina, Kan.) earned her second KCAC Indoor Track and Field Runner of the Week honor for her performances at the Friends NAIA Mid-Season Invitational held over the weekend at Wichita State's Heskett Center.
The KCAC Player of the Week program selects honorees from a pool of nominations submitted by conference sports information directors. A group of conference SIDs then make the selections for the honors.
Deines placed second in both the 800m and 400m at the Friends Mid-Season Invitational. She set a new school record in the 800m, finishing with a time of 2:17.85. Her time also ranks fifth-best in the NAIA so far this season. Deines then ran a 61.70 in the 400m. Her time in the event registers third on KWU's all-time indoor 400m performance list.
The Coyotes will return to the indoor oval at the Heskett Center starting Feb. 18 for the KCAC Championships.
