Martha Dell Eakins, 73 years of age, of Concordia passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde.  She was born on November 16, 1949 in Concordia, Kansas to Thomas E. and Della (Greer) Barleen.

Martha attended Concordia Schools.

She married Arthur Eakins on June 12, 1968 in Ridgeland, South Carolina.  He preceded her in death on March 22, 2009.  To this union two children were born Jeff and Chrystal.

Martha and Art returned to Cloud County after his retirement in 1981.

Martha was a Walmart associate in Concordia for several years. She had previously worked at Boogaarts, TG&Y, and Ideal Market in Clyde.

Martha was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #76, and a past member of the Moose Lodge Auxilary.

She enjoyed traveling, camping, square dancing, roller skating, and was Alan Jackson’s #1 fan. She loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Martha is survived by her son, Jeff (April Walker) Eakins of Rigby, ID; daughter, Chrystal Donley (Mike) of Concordia, KS; a sister, Meredith Liby (Dale)Bechard; two brothers, Owen Barleen of Concordia, KS, Loyal Barleen, Concordia, KS; brother-in-law, Bill Powell, Concordia, KS; five granddaughters, Lindsey (Justin) Snyder of Concordia, KS, Katie (Bobby Dillow) Eakins, Leah Eakins, Mariah (Sean) Chaput, Riley Westgate; five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Art, parents Thomas and Della two sisters, Peggy Powell and Carol Lingo.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia, with Pastor Earl Hale officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, with Family greeting friends from  6-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be left to the Concordia American Legion Post #76 or Park Villa Nursing Home of Clyde.
