Jimmy Duane Kibbe

Jimmy Duane Kibbe, age 75, passed away on Wednesday December 16, 2020 at Hilltop Lodge Nursing Home in Beloit, Kansas.  He was born on October 5, 1945 in Beloit, KS to Jacob & Emma Gordon Kibbe. 

   He graduated from Randall High 1963 and went on to attend one year at FHSU.  He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy December 30, 1964. Serving 8 years. In that time, he completed basic submarine school, Naval Training course, USN Nuc PWR school, & Nuc PWR Train. Unit.  He served on the USS Lewis & Clark & the USS Sand Lance. 

   After his discharge he returned home to Randall, KS to farm with his brother. In January 1984 he married Martha File Helmbrecht where they lived on a farm S. of Randall for 16 years.  He had some health issues that caused disabilities in 2000, and they moved to Beloit in 2001. In his earlier years he loved going to the Drag races. He also enjoyed watching KU basketball, the KC Chiefs, KC Royals (when they had a good year), NASCAR and Westerns. 

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob & Emma, his in-laws, Marion and Evelyn File, brother, Kenneth & wife Sue.

   He is survived by wife Martha & his step children, Angela (Blaine) Engelbert, Chris (Ranae) Helmbrecht, Beloit; brothers, Gordon (Betty) Kibbe, California, Robert (Mary Ann) Kibbe, Beloit, Ron (Jean) Kibbe, Lawrence, Ks; step-grandchildren, Jared Engelbert (fiancé Erin), Vincent (Brittany) Engelbert, and Megan Helmbrecht; twin great granddaughters, Eliana & Lila Engelbert (born Oct. 5, 2020); In-laws, Charley (Kathy) File, Bill (Jodi) File, Deb (Scott) Treaster, Beloit, KS; long time good friends, Lonnie & Sheila Myers and son Gatlin. Jewell, KS.  He has numerous Nephews and Nieces that were very special to him. 

   A family-only funeral Service will be on Monday, December 21, at Roberts Family Funeral Services, Beloit.  Following the service there will be a Military Graveside service will be at the Randall Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-7 PM Sunday, December 20 at the funeral home. Face masks and social distancing will be required.  Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice and the Jewell Christian Church.
