The Saline County Sheriff's Office has announced the results of its Thanksgiving Safe Arrival traffic enforcement campaign.
During the campaign, the sheriff's office conducted overtime patrols to aggressively target unrestrained drivers while upholding all Kansas traffic laws.
From Nov. 20-29, deputies:
●issued 95 adult/teen safety belt citations
●issued two child restraint citations
●issued two speeding citations
●issued 20 other citations or made arrests
In total, deputies made 106 enforcement stops during the campaign.
"The driving force behind enforcement campaigns like this is, first and foremost, to save lives and reduce injury on our Kansas roads," said Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan.
The Thanksgiving Safe Arrival traffic enforcement campaign was supported by a grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
