Jimmy Meares, 78, of Salina, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021. He was born in Fair Bluff, NC on May 2, 1942. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Policeman. On February 6, 1965 Jimmy married Kathleen Staudinger in Beaver, KS.
Jimmy had a career working in grain elevator operations. After retirement he stayed busy helping with auctions for Omli & Associates.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include, his wife, Kathleen Meares of Salina; three sons, Michael Meares (Beth), Patrick Meares, David Meares (Elizabeth); a daughter, Melissa Beasley (Chris); ten grandchildren; and sibling, Hilda Hall.
Services will begin with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. followed with Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church Salina, KS.
Burial will take place at St. Catherine Cemetery, Dubuque, KS at 2:00 p.m. on March 24th. Memorials may be given to the St. Catherine of Dubuque Heritage Association or St. Catherine Cemetery.
