LENORA — Nex-Tech, a Kansas company and leader in technology, has announced the grand reopening of its retail location in Salina.

Located at 104 N. Santa Fe Avenue, Suite B, in downtown Salina, the store will provide a convenient location for customers in Salina to purchase and learn about Nex-Tech’s services. The store is open Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to noon.

The Salina Area Chamber of Commerce and Nex-Tech invite the public to a ribbon cutting on Friday at 10 a.m.

Nex-Tech is not new to Salina. For nearly 20 years, Nex-Tech has offered business telephone and technology services in Salina. In addition, Nex-Tech was one of the owners of Kansas Cellular, which was also headquartered in Salina. In 2016, Nex-Tech started the deployment of fiber along key business routes in Salina and has continued to expand its fiber footprint in Salina.

In 1996, as a pioneer in the fiber industry, Nex-Tech was the first company in the United States to bring fiber-to-the-premise. Since the first fiber build in Hill City, Kansas, Nex-Tech has continued its commitment to bringing high-speed broadband technology to all its communities. In 2021, Nex-Tech was featured on the popular “World’s Greatest!...” television series. The episode highlighted Nex-Tech as a leader in the telecommunications industry and aired on Bloomberg TV.

Early this year, Nex-Tech announced the next phase of fiber expansion to Salina area households beginning in April. This area includes most areas east of the Smoky Hill River, parts south of Magnolia, Belmont to Schilling, and southeast of Cloud and Ohio. For detailed areas, please visit www.nex-tech.com/salina. This area of fiber expansion is estimated to be complete by the end of 2023.

“Nex-Tech is strongly committed to the Salina community, and with the reopening of our local office, we are excited to serve our friends and neighbors,” says Dustin Schlaefli, director of customer engagement. “The response we have received from the community has been great. Nex-Tech currently has 17 employees working in the Salina area.”

This fiber expansion provides Internet accessibility of speeds up to 1 Gig, allowing ample bandwidth for running multiple wireless devices (including streaming video) or supporting a work-from-home lifestyle.

Increased Internet speeds provide many benefits to residences and businesses. It allows the transfer of very large files over the Internet, like medical images or multimedia programming. A fiber infrastructure also levels the playing field for small, rural communities to compete with larger, urban areas for business growth, expansion, and economic development.

Nex-Tech, a technology service provider, provides phone, Internet, and business technology services. The Internet expansion will allow Nex-Tech to deliver TV Now service; providing a new option for TV service to Salina residents. Nex-Tech currently offers fiber service in nearly 60 communities throughout Kansas and was the first company in the nation to bring fiber to the home.
