April 11, 1941 - September 2, 2022

Edwin “Ed” Workman, age 81, died Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS. He was born in Concordia, KS on April 11, 1941 to Bennie E. and Eva E. (Ramseyer) Workman.

Ed graduated from Concordia High School in 1959.  He worked as a truck driver for the Fyfe Sand Company, Ideal Truck Lines and Abram Sand Company until his retirement.  After his retirement, Ed enjoyed working and repairing lawn mowers.

He married Edna Pellant on Jan 19, 1962.  They were blessed with three children, Annette, E.J. and Cindy.   They later divorced.

Ed was a member of the American Legion and former Moose Lodge member.  He was an avid hunter, especially coyote hunting.  He enjoyed fishing in his younger years but loved race car driving, demo derbies and watching Nascar.

He is survived by his daughters Annette Stierlen (Mark Mai), Russell and Cindy (Rod), Hake, Concordia; son E.J. Workman, Concordia;  grandchildren Jason Ryals (Racheal), Julie (Jeff) Browne, Isaiah Stierlen (Ashley Fowler), Angeleah Stierlen, Marissa Montague (Austin), Trey Workman, Rodney Hake & Brad Hake and eight greatgrandchildren; sisters Sharon Roy (Rex), Clyde and Darlene Terry, Green River, WY; brothers Frank Workman (Penny), Evanston, WY, Jim Workman (Chris), Concordia and Don Ramseyer, Clyde; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Durl, Rex and Bennie (Jr.) Workman; sister Burnedette Workman; greatgrandchild Johannah Browne and daughter-in-law Katrina Workman.

The family selected cremation and will celebrate Ed’s life on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the NCK Down Syndrome Society in memory of Angela Hake in care of the funeral home.
