The Kansas Department of Transportation will temporarily close Interstate 135 (I-135) on Friday from mile marker 58-60 for demolition of the Avenue A bridge.
The bridge is located approximately one-half mile south of the U.S. Highway 56 exit in McPherson County.
Northbound and southbound I-135 will close at 7 p.m. Friday. Southbound I-135 will reopen at 6 a.m. on Saturday and northbound I-135 will reopen by 7 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting. Traffic will follow the signed detour through McPherson via U.S. 56, Main Street, and Kansas Highway 61.
Dondlinger and Sons Construction Co. Inc. of Wichita is the primary contractor for this $2.3 million project.
