A local woman was arrested after a two-vehicle wreck in northwestern Salina Tuesday evening.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning that Erin Hobson, 31, of Salina, was northbound on N. College Avenue in a 2017 Kia Sorento when she allegedly ran a stop sign at W. Ash Street and struck a 2003 Ford Ranger driven by Garrett Smith, 21, of Salina.

The collision occurred at approximately 6:50 p.m. Tuesday.

A 14-year-old girl in the Sorento had to be cut from the vehicle by Salina Fire Department personnel, Forrester said. The girl was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center.

The Sorento sustained passenger-side damage and the pickup front-end damage, Forrester said. Both were towed from the scene.

Hobson was arrested on the requested charge of driving while suspended, Forrester said. She also was cited for no proof of insurance and failure to yield, he added.
