On Friday, visit downtown Salina and enjoy special attractions and artists at participating businesses.
First Friday is a collaborative evening perfect for exploring restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions in downtown Salina. First Friday events are open to the public at no charge. Guests are encouraged to walk-in, look around, and enjoy everything downtown Salina has to offer.
The upcoming First Friday events include the following.
●Apron Strings, 143 B S. Santa Fe Avenue, 4-6 p.m. Apron Strings will be hosting Vail Family Farms for a pop-up.
●Flower Nook, 208 E. Iron Avenue, 4:30-7 p.m. Featuring a variety of art and entertainment. The first 25 people to show their completed COVID-19 vaccination cards will receive a $20 gift certificate to Barolo as The Flower Nook’s thank you for caring.

●Peaceful Body Wellness Retreat, 148 S. Santa Fe Avenue, 5-7 p.m. Hu. THe HUMAN Element, digital photography exhibit by Isaiah Marcotte. Exploring the people and other human influences in our community. Screening of “Alley Tode” by Isaiah, featuring John E Epic, a nine-minute movie on a continuous loop.
●Salina Art Center, 242 S. Santa Fe Avenue, 5-7 p.m. Free galleries are open late. Two great shows. See Dissonance and Resonance: Four Photographers and GLOSSY ∙ BRIGHT ∙ COLORFUL.
●Art Center Cinema, 150 S. Santa Fe Avenue, 6 p.m., showing: Summer of Soul ( Or when the revolution could not be televised). This documentary film explores six weeks during the summer of 1969 when thousands of people attend the Harlem Cultural Festival to celebrate Black history, culture, music, and fashion.

Additionally, you can enjoy a performance by Salina Community Theater’s elite dance troupe, Iron Street Dance Company.
The performance starts at 6 p.m. at the outdoor public plaza near the corner of N. Santa Fe Avenue and W. Ash Street. Bring your lawn chairs.
The troupe is made up of high school students from the Salina area who have risen to the top of SCT's education program, Center for Theatre Arts.
The dance group has prepared several dance numbers for this special event.
“It has been exciting for us to perform in this space as it has allowed us to be creative with spacing, attire, and choreography,” said Megan Coberly, education director and dance co-chair.
