Salina Police Department officers are searching for a suspect involved in a domestic violence incident and vehicle theft that occurred late Thursday night.
According to Capt. Feldman, officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Steahlin Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 after receiving a report of a physical domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 29-year-old female victim who reported that about 20 minutes earlier, she heard a knock at her door. When she opened it, the suspect, a 34-year-old male known to her, allegedly forced his way inside.
Once inside, the suspect reportedly grabbed the victim by the throat and threw her to the ground. He then demanded the keys to a vehicle in her possession. Fearing for her safety, the victim complied, handing over the keys. The suspect then slammed her into a wall before exiting the residence and getting into the vehicle, a 2018 silver/gold Honda Accord with Kansas tag 517PUB.
As the victim attempted to call the police, the suspect allegedly tried to force his way back into the residence before fleeing the area in the stolen vehicle. Police say the car, valued at $15,000, is owned by a third party.
Authorities continue to investigate and ask anyone with information about the suspect or the stolen vehicle to contact the Salina Police Department (785) 826-7210
