Salina man arrested after wreck; fentanyl, meth allegedly found

A Salina man who allegedly drove his car into the back of a pickup Monday night also faces requested drug charges after police say they found methamphetamine and 155 pills believed to be fentanyl in his possession.

Officers were sent to the 700 block of E. Neal Avenue at approximately 10:55 p.m. Monday for the report of a car hitting a parked pickup, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. When they arrived, they found Gregory Walburn, 36, of Salina, with his 2006 Lincoln LS that had run into the back of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500.

Forrester said Walburn appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Walburn also was found to have a felony arrest warrant from Dickinson County.

A search conducted when Walburn was taken into custody allegedly found 155 pills believed to be fentanyl and a plastic bag of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, Forrester said. Officers also conducted a DUI investigation of Walburn.

Forrester said Walburn was arrested on the following requested charges.

●Distribution of a depressant

●Possession of a depressant

●Possession of methamphetamine

●No drug tax stamp

●Possession of drug paraphernalia

●Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
