Mary Margaret (O'Shea) Roesner

Mary Margaret (O'Shea) Roesner, 93, of Salina, passed away early Sunday, November 15, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her sons Jim and Leo and her grandson Jeb.

Mary is survived by her children Mary Katherine Isaacson (Vaughn), Theresa White, Joni Carver, Louise Dunn (Brian), David (Karen), Clara Hilger (Patrick) and Malin Thornberg-Roesner; 24 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

Mary was an active parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish and their Sojourner's group, a member of Catholic Daughters of America, and Ladies of Columbus and also taught CCD for many years. Mary was proud to be a dairy farmer and a farmer's wife, was thoroughly involved in 4-H and a life-long member of the Sunshine Circle ladies' group. She also worked for many years as a tax-preparer at R&J Tax Service, H&R Block and was the first young woman in her family to work professionally, taking a position as a bookkeeper upon graduating from Sacred Heart high school in 1944.

Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt and she already is dearly missed.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 19, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, at Sacred Heart Cathedral. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. following the visitation.
