
SALINA –Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for an alleged knife attack.
Just before 6:30p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to report of a stabbing at Oakdale Park, 730 Oakdale Drive in Salina, according to Salina Police Sergeant Kyle Tonniges.
Officers arrived and found a 49-year-old male victim from Salina had been stabbed in the side of the chest. Numerous witnesses reported a verbal altercation between two woman in the park. At one point, the stabbing victim allegedly threw a soda can at one of the women.
This apparently angered that woman's friend, 53-year-old Gregorio Baca of Salina.
Baca approached the victim and stabbed him in the side of the chest using a 4 inch folding knife, according to Tonniges.
EMS transported the victim to the hospital for treatment of a serious, but non-life threatening stab wound. Baca was located at Lakewood Park and he was arrested on requested charges of Aggravated Battery and Disorderly Conduct.
