It is with great sadness that the family ofJess Hughesannounce his passing.
Jess, a lifelong resident of Salina KS, died on Aug 19, 2020 at the age of 73.
Jess is survived by his wife, Marilyn Hughes; his children Mike Hughes and Jennifer Pruente; and his grandchildren Jessica, Ashley, Kyle, Ally and Addison. He is predeceased by his parents Jesse and Agnus Hughes as well as his brother Mike Hughes.
Jess is a veteran of the Vietnam War. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Navy never left him. He was fondly known as "the knife maker." He spent over four decades making knives and perfecting his craft. He enjoyed camping, fishing and being outdoors.
A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday Aug 29, 2020 at 1 p.m. at All Saints Catholci Cemetery, 3350 E. Crawford St, Salina, KS.
Jess will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Salina in care of Ryan Mortuary.
