A teenager was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault after an incident in southwest Salina Tuesday night.

According to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester, a 44-year-old Salina man was lying on a CityGo bus stop bench in the 700 block of West Schilling Road when the subject, Dawson Nielsen, 18, of Salina, moved the man's legs so he could sit on the bench.

A verbal altercation ensued and then Nielsen allegedly pointed a BB gun at the man, Forrester said. The man told police that he believed the gun was a Colt .45, Forrester added.

Nielsen was arrested on a requested charge of aggravated assault, Forrester said.
