Issues pertaining to zoning, solid waste on Salina City Commission Agenda

The Salina City Commission meeting will take place in–person at the City/County Building in Room 107 and via Zoom.  Meetings can be viewed at the City of Salina YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/cityofSalinaKansas

To participate via Zoom, citizens will need to use the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89275984587

The meeting can also be accessed by phone at 1-346-248-7799. Enter Meeting ID: 892 7598 4587 when prompted. 

If citizens wish to speak, either during the public forum or when the mayor requests public comment on an item, citizens attending via Zoom must raise their hand so that the meeting host can allow them to speak. Those who attend the in-person meeting will have the opportunity to speak at the podium. 

Citizens can also send written comments or questions to City Commissioners by visiting the City of Salina’s website at www.salina-ks.gov and using the “Email City Commission” icon on the home page. 

In order for the commissioners to have an opportunity to review comments in advance of the meeting, please email your comments or questions by 5 p.m. the Sunday prior to the Monday meetings.

Study Session

Commissioners are scheduled to meet in a study session at 3:00 p.m. on Monday for a discussion regarding the Salina Parks Master Plan.

Consent Agenda

● Approve Resolution No. 23-8151 reaffirming the Saline County Solid Waste Management Plan with no additional changes

● Authorize adding scope in the amount of 115,000.00 to Project No. 23016-2023 Mill and Inlay

Administration

● Consider awarding the bid for the demolition of the former Oakdale Ice Skating Rink to Diehl Enterprises, Inc. upon fulfillment of all prerequisites under the purchasing policy

Development Business

●  Approve Ordinance No. 23-11178 on first reading, relating to application #Z23-7, filed by Chief Tony Sneidar, Jr. on behalf of the Salina Fire Department, requesting a change in zoning district classification from Agriculture to public use facilities. This is to allow the construction of a new fire station facility. The subject property is a 4.57-acre tract of land at the north end of the Berkley Family Recreation Area

● Approve Ordinance No. 23-11179 on the first reading relating to Application #06-08A, filed by the Salina City Commission, requesting approval of an amendment to the boundary and effective area of the North Ohio Street Gateway Overlay District to add a 19.80-acre tract of land on the west side of North Ohio Street that was recently annexed into the city to the overlay district area
