October 11, 1943 ~ December 5, 2021 (age 78)
Jackie Lee Butterfield, 78, of Salina, Kan., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 5, 2021. He was born in Inman, Neb., to Justin “Tut” and Mable (Gaughenbaugh) Butterfield on October 11, 1943.
He leaves behind to cherish his precious memories, his son Lee Butterfield, of Salina; daughter Lori (Butterfield) Betterley, Platte City, Mo.; loving granddaughters Jackie Betterley, Salina, and Cassie Betterley, Kansas City, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Rylea, Tralynn, and Kagerick; brothers Chuck, Larry, and Danny, and their families; and sister Karen, and her family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
Jackie enjoyed many things during his life. His biggest love was his family and friends. He always made sure to be there to support his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren by attending all the dance recitals, music programs, and band concerts he could make it to. Jack also tried to attend family reunions, weddings, and birthday parties of extended family and friends.
His second love was truck driving. His love for driving started with his career at Landstar and lasted 30 years. As much as Jack loved his family, he also loved the open road. He shared this love with his family and took them on many wonderful family vacations. His orneriness and laughter always made these trips even more special. He will always be remembered for his laughter and smile.
The family will be receiving visitors from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, December 9, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, O’Neill, Neb.
