Kansas Wesleyan men's tennis stayed unbeaten in the KCAC, improving to 5-0 in the Kansas Conference after a 7-0 sweep of the Bethany Swedes on Saturday at Salina Central High School.
In doubles, the Coyotes took two of the three matches. Daniel Harkin (FR/Manhattan) and Alex Sherer (FR/Rossville) beat Zeke Mumford and Matt Lucas 6-1 at No. 1; and Bryce Ware (FR/Amarillo, Texas) and Garrison Wright (FR/Maize) beat Franco Hernandez Colman and Daniel Lozano Machado 6-1 at No. 2. Bethany got a win at No. 3 as Carlos Manel Rodriguez Rivas and Vukasin Dimic beat Braeden Lewis (FR/Edmond, Okla.) and Luke Craft (FR/Manhattan) 6-3.
Wesleyan swept the singles matches.
Harkin beat Mumford 6-4, 6-1; Ware beat Rodriguez Rivas 6-0, 6-0; Sherer beat Lucas 6-2, 6-3; Wright beat Hernandez Colman 6-3, 2-6, 10-4; Rodrigo Vera (SR/Lima, Peru) beat Lozano Machado 3-6, 6-2, 10-6; and Wes Robertson (SO/Edmond, Okla.) beat Dimic 6-1, 6-0.
KWU improved to 6-5 overall and 5-0 in the KCAC.
Wesleyan has a scrimmage match with Seward County on Monday, then returns to Kansas Conference play on Wednesday at Bethel.
