A convicted felon was arrested following an alleged assault on a woman in Salina.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on Wednesday at around 6:30 pm, officers were dispatched to Salina Regional Health Center for the report of a 40-year old female who was a victim of assault.
Reportedly, at around 3:00 pm an acquaintance identified as Cody Jones (29) was at her residence in central Salina. SPD stated Jones threatened the victim and was in possession of a knife and brass knuckles.
After the threat, the victim drove Jones to another residence in the 1000 block of S. Santa Fe. En route, Jones still had the knife and brass knuckles.
Upon arrival, Jones then struck the victim in the right cheek with the brass knuckles, causing a laceration and black eye.
The victim was able get away and arrived to the hospital, where SPD was contacted about the incident.
Officers then arrived to the 1000 block of S. Santa Fe and located Jones. He was arrested and booked into the Saline County Jail for the requested charges of:
- Aggravated Domestic Battery.
- Aggravated Kidnapping, Stalking, Kidnapping.
- Violation of a Protection Order (2).
- Aggravated Weapons Violation for a Convicted Felon for the brass knuckles.
The knife and brass knuckles were recovered by police.
