Leadsled Spectacular in town; watch KKOA Sundown Cruise live on Salina Post

The 42nd annual Leadsled Spectacular opens on Thursday with the Sundown Cruise through downtown Salina.

If you can't make it downtown, you can watch the Kustom Kemps of America (KKOA) Sundown Cruise live on Salina Post at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The America’s oldest and biggest custom car and truck event, the Leadsled Spectacular will continue from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in Salina's Oakdale Park.

The event will include show cars, trucks, drag machines, vintage bicycles, vendors, two working Kustom Bodyshops, automotive swappers, and custom rodding vendors, according to information from KKOA. Additionally, there will be two bands, food vendors, pedal cars, and a treasure hunt.

At noon on Friday, KKOA will have a Hotrod and Kustom Auction at Oakdale Park.

Watch registered Leadsled Spectacular entries race an eighth of a mile against whoever rolls up beside them during the Run-What'ya-Brung drag races are scheduled for 4 p.m. to dusk Friday at the Berkley Family Recreational Area, 841 Markley Road.

Other events in Oakdale Park include two beauty contests, a Vintage Bicycle Spoke-tacular, and a Model Car and Pedal Car Spectacular.
