LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas will open Big 12 play for the upcoming season hosting West Virginia on Saturday, Jan. 2, as the league announced the 2026-27 Monster Energy Big 12 Men’s Basketball schedule today.
The full schedule for the Jayhawks is now set with the dates and opponents revealed for Big 12 play and the already announced non-conference slate that features marquee matchups against Louisville and Duke in exhibition play, Kentucky, Villanova, Northern Iowa, Missouri, UConn, Ohio State, and others, including three standout contests in the Players Era 8.

Dating back to 1991-92, Kansas has won 34 of its last 35 conference opening games, with the lone loss to West Virginia in the 2024-25 season.
Following the Jan. 2 contest vs. West Virginia, KU will make a two-game swing at Utah on Jan. 6 and at BYU on Jan. 9. The Jayhawks then return to historic Allen Fieldhouse for a pair of home contests against Colorado on Jan. 14 and UCF on Jan. 16.
KU will have its second two-game league road trip at Cincinnati on Jan. 19 and at Kansas State on Jan. 23. Following the KSU contest, there will not be a midweek game as KU will then host Oklahoma State on Jan. 30.
Kansas will play its first of two ESPN Big Monday games at Houston on Feb. 1 before returning home for battles against Texas Tech on Feb. 6 and Arizona State on Feb. 9. KU will then play at Iowa State on Feb. 13 and host Baylor Feb. 17.
The Jayhawks then make their third two-game road swing of the 2026-27 season at Arizona on Feb. 20 and at TCU on Feb. 24 before returning home to host Kansas State on Feb. 27 and Iowa State on ESPN Big Monday on March 1. The Iowa State contest will be Senior Night and dating back to the 1983-84 season, Kansas has won a mind-boggling 43 consecutive home finales in Allen Fieldhouse. KU will conclude the league portion of the season at Baylor on March 6.
The 2027 Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament will be held March 9-13 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, and the NCAA Tournament Selection Sunday will be March 14. KU has won 11 Big 12 Tournaments with its most recent in 2022.
Kansas finished the 2025-26 season with a 24-11 record and tied for third in the Big 12 Conference regular season with a 12-6 league mark. Kansas advanced to its 53rd all-time NCAA Tournament in 2026.
