Celebrate Cinco de Mayo during Sacred Heart Cathedral's Mexican Kermes fundraiser on Friday.

The event is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Friday in the fenced-in parking lot across the street west from the cathedral, 118 N. Ninth Street, and is open to the public. Funds raised will go toward the Hispanic Evangelization Ministry of Sacred Heart Cathedral.

The celebration will have authentic Mexican food, including tacos, tamales, flautas, enchiladas and aguas frescas, churros, elotes, popcorn, and much more, according to information from the cathedral.

Additionally, the celebration will include live music, folkloric dances, games, bounce houses, and pony rides.
