The Salina Family YMCA is rallying the community to make a meaningful impact on the lives of local youth through the 2025 Annual Strong Kids Campaign.
With a goal of raising $150,000 and encouraging people to get involved at any level, this effort seeks to provide life-changing opportunities for children and families in Salina.
The campaign runs from February 1 to March 15, 2025, and will culminate in an exciting Hoops for Heroes Basketball Game at the YMCA on March 15—a friendly competition between Salina’s fire department and police department.
This year’s campaign theme, “Here for Good. Here for Kids. Here for All,” reflects the YMCA’s steadfast commitment to creating lasting, positive change in our community.“We recognize that the Y is many things for many youth and families.
With your help, it can be and have an even greater impact on the lives of those in our community,” said Allen Smith, YMCA Board of Directors Chief Volunteer Officer.
Donors can maximize their impact this year thanks to the YMCA Endowment Fund, which has committed to a $0.25-on-the-dollar match for all contributions, up to $25,000. This match ensures that every gift goes further, reaching even more children and families in need.
“At the Y, we believe strong communities start with strong kids,” said Tom Bell, Campaign Chair. “The YMCA is a place where children discover their strengths, feel welcomed and supported, and grow into the leaders of tomorrow. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference. Together, we can ensure these opportunities are available to every child in Salina.
”Your gift helps ensure that every child has access to the tools and resources they need to thrive—whether through sports, swim lessons, summer camp, or countless other programs. By joining this mission, you’re helping build a healthier, more connected community where all youth are empowered to reach their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances.
