Larry W. Sallman, age 78, entered into rest on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Stormount-Vail Healthcare Center, Topeka, Kansas. He was born on October 5, 1942 in Minersville, Kansas to Walter and Esther (Varnick) Sallman.
He was a graduate of Concordia High School. Larry served in the US States Army during the Vietnam War from 1964-1966. He was honorably discharged.
On May 2, 1983 he married Wanda Kendall in Rosenberg, Texas and they later divorced.
Larry worked along his brothers, Gary and Karl in the Construction business for many years until his retirement.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #27 Clifton and V.F.W. Post #7515 Clyde.
Larry enjoyed reading about politics and history and loved debating politics. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his 2 daughters, Julie Sallman, Clyde, KS.; Jessica Begnoche, Clifton, KS; 5 grandchildren, Hailey, Landon, Elsie, Isabelle, and Archer, 4 sisters, Vivian Schwab, Clay Center, KS; Eva Schwab, Clifton, KS; Rita Begnoche, Salina, KS; Melisa Stolzenburg (Mike), Ames, KS; 2 brothers, Gary Sallman and Karl (Debbie) Sallman both of Clifton, KS; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Esther, 2 sisters, Lenora Thomas, Charla Mills, a brother, Frank Sallman.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 1-8 pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 pm.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas with Pastor Dwight Whitead officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, rural Norway, Kansas. Military honors wil be conducted by the Ft. Riley Big Red One and the V.F.W. Post #7515 Clyde and American Legion Post #27 Clifton.
