January 18, 1926 ~ October 2, 2021 (age 95)
Edith Earl (Cart) Robideaux (Edie to everyone who knew her), peacefully departed her loving family on October 2, 2021, at her home in Salina, KS after having lived a blessed, full, and wonderful life of 95+ years.
Edie was born in Paris, Kentucky on January 18, 1926 to Bessie Bell (Morris) and John Egbert Cart. Edie was married to Clyde (Robie) Robideaux for 62 wonderful years before his passing in December, 2010.
Edie and Robie had the opportunity to live and raise their family in various towns throughout the U.S. as a result of Robie’s career. Edie loved sports and activities of all kinds. Throughout her life she was a fisherwoman, water-skier, league bowler, bridge club enthusiast, garden club member, avid golfer and had a passion for dancing with her favorite partner, Robie. Edie was quick-witted, funny, kind, thoughtful, and compassionate to all who had the great good fortune to know her.
Edie is survived by her three children, Connie (Tom) Deschene of Salina, KS; Denise (Dan) Carpenter of Spicer, MN; and John (Margo Nutz) Robideaux of Savannah, GA, as well as grandchildren Denna Dudzik, Paul Sandberg, Karli Zuege, Jeff Carpenter, Melissa Hogzett, Emily VanGrinsven, Mitch Carpenter, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Edie was preceded in death by her husband Clyde (Robie) Robideaux, granddaughter Julie Carpenter, her parents, three sisters, one brother, and two half-sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St., Salina, KS. Friends may call at the Ryan Mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
