The Saline County Road and Bridge Department announced early Wednesday afternoon that it was closing part of Hobbs Creek Road in the southern part of the county for drainage work.

Hobbs Creek Road between S. Gypsum Valley Road and S. Kipp Road was being closed to traffic beginning today for the replacement of a drainage structure. Weather permitting the roadway should be opened by Friday.

Local drivers are asked to find alternate routes around the work area. Local and emergency traffic will be provided access to private property within the sections of closed road at all times but only from the side upon which the property lies, the county noted in a news release.
