Heath Hogan will interview with the Salina USD 305 Board of Education for the position of superintendent on the evening of Feb. 14.
Hogan is the fourth and final candidate to be interviewed by the board. The finalists were selected based on how well they fit the desired characteristics identified by the board, with input from focus groups and a community survey.
With 28 years in education, Hogan currently serves as the superintendent of schools for Smoky Valley USD 400. His previous experience includes serving in Garden City USD 457 as deputy superintendent, human resources director, and principal, associate principal, and teacher at the elementary level.
Interview schedule for Feb. 14
- 9:00-9:30 a.m. – Meeting with Board Clerk
- 9:30-11:00 a.m. – Meeting with Executive Team Members
- 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – Meeting with Building Administrators
- 12:30-2:30 p.m. – Tour of the district and community
- 2:30-3:30 p.m. – Break
- 3:45-5:00 p.m. – Public reception at 1511 Gypsum Ave.
- 5:00-6:00 p.m. – Break
- 6:15 p.m. – Formal interview in executive session
The interview will take place at Homewood Suites, 115 E. Mulberry St., during an executive session. No official action will be taken.
