Salina man arrested after warrant for alleged child sex crimes

Salina man accused of child sex crimes was booked into the Saline County Jail.

According to the Salina Police Department (SPD), Vin Byfield (21) was accused of committing ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) and a search warrant was conducted at his home in Salina on April 2025.

SPD found there were child sex crime materials on his electronic devices. Byfield was booked in Lyon County and SPD filed a warrant, picking him up to be placed into the Saline County Jail.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, Byfield was picked up by Saline County law enforcement on Wednesday at 12:00 pm. He was being held in Lyon County as a courtesy hold.

Byfield is facing the requested charges of 

- Aggravated internet trading in child pornography; child <14 years of age.

- Sexual exploitation of a child; Possession media of child <18

He is expected to appear in court.
