County commission to officially canvass general election votes

Tuesday's Saline County Commission meeting is scheduled to include the official canvass of the county's Nov. 2 general election.

About the meeting

Saline County Commission is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash Street. The meetings also can be viewed on Saline County’s YouTube channel:

Commissioners are scheduled to officially canvass the results of the Nov. 2 general election in Saline County near the beginning of their regular weekly meeting Tuesday.

Other items on the county agenda for Tuesday include the following.

●Consider approving the acceptance of two immunization grants for the Saline County Health Department.

●Consider awarding a bid for tuck and pointing on the senior center building.

●Consider approving grant funding for community corrections.

●Consider allowing the jail to participate in the Stepping Up Initiative, which works to reduce the number of people with serious mental illness in jails.

●Hear a human resources update.

●Hear County Administrator Phillip Smith-Hanes weekly update.

Commissioners also are scheduled to meet in executive session for a non-elected personnel matter.
