John Wesley Landes, Salina, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2022 at Presbyterian Manor at the age of 84. He was surrounded by his wife and loving daughters. John was born August 5, 1938 in Salina, Kansas to Margaret (Grover) and John Turner Landes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Donald Rowe.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patty Landes, of Presbyterian Manor; daughters Cathy (Patrick) Stang of Great Bend, Mary Landes (Dave Gilchrist) of Salina, Jennifer Landes of Salina; grandson Father John Stang of Dodge City; many niece and nephews, Donna (Jim) Bonebrake, Steven (Michelle) Rowe, John (Jane) Rowe and his beloved dog Rex (now a member of Mary’s home!)
John was an entrepreneur and businessman in Salina. He served on many boards and organizations including KOMA, and Rotary. He was a Paul Harris Fellow, Asbury Hospital, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Salina Family YMCA. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon.
He loved to travel.
A funeral will be held Tuesday, December 27th, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Ryan Mortuary, with Father John Stang officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Mausoleum Williamsburg.
